Since Thailand is integrating to ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in year 2014, it will benefit on a freedom movement of logistics, labors as well as investments among AEC. How would the knowledge and work on Civil Engineering be developed and what is Civil Engineering’s role? To achieve sustainable development of AEC, the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University and The Engineering Institute of Thailand Under H.M. The King’s Patronage is therefore honor to arrange the 19th National Convention on Civil Engineering(NCCE19) with the theme entitling “Civil Engineering and ASEAN Economic Community”. The objective of this convention is being a venue for Thai and foreign academicians, researchers, engineers in Civil Engineering and relating fields to present and exchange their innovative knowledge and valuable working experiences, achieving sustainable development of AEC, competitive among other economic communities around the world.
การปรับตัวของวิชาชีพวิศวกรรมโยธาเพื่อสร้างโอกาส และบทบาทในประชาคมอาเซียน นับเป็ยสิ่งที่จำเป็นในปัจจุบัน เพื่อเป็นการส่งเสริมให้วิศวกรไทยมีศักยภาพในภูมิภาคมากขึ้น และเพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมรับมือในการทำงานร่วมกับชาติต่างๆ ในอาเซียน ทางมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าพระนครเหนือ โดยความร่วมมือระหว่าง ภาควิชาวิศวกรรมโยธา ภาควิชาครุศาสตร์โยธา และภาควิชาเทคโนโลยีวิศวกรรมโยธาและสิ่งแวดล้อม ร่วมกับ วิศวกรรสมสถานแห่งประเทศไทยในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์ จึงได้ร่วมกันจัดการประชุมวิชาการวิศวกรรมโยธาแห่งชาติครั้งที่ 20 (ฉลองครบรอบ 20 ปี)
ในหัวข้อ "การพัฒนาวิศวกรรมโยธาสู่โอกาสในอาเซียน" โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเป็นเวทีให้นักวิชาการ นักวิจัย วิศวกร และผู้ปฏิบัติงานทางด้านวิศวกรรมโยธา และสาขาที่เกี่ยวข้อง ทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติ ได้ร่วมแสดงความคิดเห็นและแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้และประสบการณ์ทางด้านวิชาชีพ อีกทั้งเป็นการเตรียมความพร้อมให้กับวิศวกรรมโยธา และเป็นช่องทางในสร้างโอกาสของงานด้านวิศวกรรมโยธาของประเทศไทย ให้มีบทบาทสู่ภูมิภาคในอนาคต
